Information you add

Bike Steward lets you enter information about bicycles, inspections, prices, maintenance, components, warranty coverage, shops, quotes, fitment, notes, serial numbers, and related records. You may also select or capture photos and import documents.

This information is stored in Bike Steward's local app storage on your device. Bike Steward does not transmit this information to the developer. Your device or operating-system backup settings may separately include app data in a backup controlled by you and Apple.

Photos and documents

The app uses Apple's system photo picker and camera controls. It receives only the photos you explicitly select or capture. Evidence, receipts, and imported documents are copied into local app storage so they remain connected to the relevant record.

Location and nearby shops

Bike Steward requests when-in-use location permission only after you choose to find nearby bike shops. Apple's MapKit processes the search. Bike Steward does not send your location to a developer-controlled server. City or ZIP search can be used without granting precise location.

Saved shops, favorites, specialties, trust labels, service requests, referrals, and visit confirmations stay on the device in the current build. Community activity sharing is unavailable in the current app and no activity is sent to a shop or Bike Steward server.

Serial-number checks

Bike Steward does not automatically look up a serial number. If you tap the Bike Index check button, the serial number you entered is sent directly to Bike Index's public search service and is handled under Bike Index's privacy practices. The returned summary is saved locally. The 529 Garage option opens its website for a separate search.

Apple Health and notifications

If you grant Health access, Bike Steward reads cycling workouts for bike mileage, riding time, and maintenance context. It does not write Health data or send it to a Bike Steward server. If you enable maintenance or warranty reminders, the app schedules them locally through iOS.

Reports, backups, and sharing

Buyer reports, shop handoffs, bike passports, and portable garage backups are generated locally. They leave the app only when you choose a destination through Apple's share or file interfaces. Exported backups are not promised to be encrypted by Bike Steward; protect them as you would receipts, warranty documents, and serial-number records.

Collection, analytics, and advertising

• No Bike Steward account is required.
• No app data is collected on a developer-controlled server in the current build.
• No third-party analytics or advertising SDK is included.
• Bike Steward does not track you across apps or websites or sell personal information.

Retention and deletion

Records stay on your device until you remove them through app controls or delete the app. Delete All App Data removes locally stored records and attachments and cancels Bike Steward notifications. Recovery points created before a restore stay in local app storage; deleting the app removes that storage, subject to your device backup settings. Portable backups exported elsewhere remain there until you delete them from that destination.

Children and policy changes

Bike Steward is not designed to collect personal information from children. This policy will be updated before adding cloud synchronization, accounts, analytics, advertising, payments, or any material change to external searches or data practices.

This website and support email

This website presents information about Bike Steward. Hosting providers process connection information, such as your IP address and browser request, to deliver and protect the site. If you email support, your email address, message, and any attachments are received and used to respond. Do not send sensitive bike records unless needed for your request.
